Michael Harter parts ways with Bernd Heuer Karriere
Under the new company name ‘Westwind’, Michael Harter and his team will continue their strategic search for qualified professionals in the real estate and construction markets. Harter and his team members are not new to the business: the 10 man team consists of all the members from the Berlin branch of Bernd Heuer & Partner Human Resources GmbH.
Founded in 2010, Westwind was a joint venture between Michael Harter and Bernd Heuer & Partner Human Resources GmbH in Düsseldorf. Three years ago majority shareholder and real estate economist, Michael Harter, established the Berlin branch of Bernd Heuer & Partners with a real estate savvy team of specialist consultants. The Berlin branch has since successfully operated as an individual profit center, yet exclusively presented as a part of the Bernd Heuer & Partner group.
This was soon to change. For a long time it has been Michael Harter’s goal to run his own business in the managerial and specialist search market. The former banker and project developer believes that “Both sides have profited and learned from each other over the last 3 years. Now the time has come for us to autonomously implement our strategies and ideas at our own pace and make our own mark on the market.” The new venture had no effect on our existing customer base: address, customer liaison, database and network remained the same. “The nameplate was merely changed” stated Westwind Managing Director Michael Harter, formerly Managing Director at Bernd Heuer & Partner “It’s a breath of fresh air”.
Westwind advises businesses and institutions on strategic searches for highly qualified managers and specialists in the real estate and construction markets. Just some of Westwinds’ clients include a renowned Frankfurt developer, a Hamburg center manager and a leading accommodation giant from the German Ruhr region. Due to the competent search process mandate specific professionals are found, and their curiosity and drive is awoken to join new and exciting teams in some of the largest business centres in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Where Westwind operates for you
The Westwind team consists purely of career real estate consultants. Michael Harter states the short and middle term goals are: “We want to increase our vacancy appointments twofold over the next three years, while expanding and consolidating our standing in the Austrian, Swiss and Luxembourgian markets.
Michael Harter has been the majority shareholder of Westwind since 2010 and plans to take over the remaining 49% from Bernd Heuer & Partner Human Resources GmbH, who remains as a silent partner, over the course of the year 2014. Both businesses will continue to jointly preside over the most extensive mandate and candidate database in the German speaking real estate market.
